On the damp evening of Saturday the 13th, Carmelita took part in the “History of Little Italy” event held at the Bancroft Street Market in Omaha. Her CD Love Unfolding accompanied my wife and me to the event and was placed near the front table to head home with friends and fans (for a purchase price of course). The evening was a comfortable blend of dress up and casual, history and now, art and culture. After hearing stories of Omaha’s early Italian immigrants, Carmelita, accompanied by a three-piece band, shared several songs from her heart – most coming from her own heritage. Delicious (but totally healthful – uh, huh) pastries, cookies and the like were enjoyed afterward (a few of us couldn’t wait that long) while browsing the pieces of art on display as well.
